Privacy Policy

In line with POPIA · Last updated 17 June 2026

JonyX WebWorks (Pty) Ltd ("JonyX WebWorks", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 ("POPIA"). This policy explains what we collect, why, how we look after it, and the rights you have.

Who we are

Responsible party: JonyX WebWorks (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa, based in Pretoria, Gauteng.

An important distinction: our data vs our clients' data

This policy covers personal information that we are responsible for — mainly information from visitors to our website and from people who contact us or become our clients.

It does not cover the data our clients store inside the custom systems we build for them. For that data, our client is the responsible party, and we act only as an operator — we process it on the client's instruction, store it securely, and never use it for our own purposes. If you are an employee, customer or contact of one of our clients, please refer to that company's own privacy policy.

What personal information we collect

When you contact us

Through our contact form, WhatsApp, email or a phone call we may collect your name, your company name, your email address and phone number, and whatever you choose to tell us about your enquiry (including your area of interest and budget).

When you become a client

We collect the business and contact details needed to deliver, support and bill for our services — for example your name, company details, contact information and billing information.

Automatically, when you visit our website

Our website and hosting provider may log technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed and the date and time of access. This helps us keep the site secure and working. Our site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of serving those fonts.

Why we collect it (purpose) and our lawful basis

We only collect information that is adequate, relevant and not excessive for these purposes, and we keep it as accurate as we reasonably can.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary, with parties who are required to protect it, including:

Information processed outside South Africa

Some of the services we use (for example WhatsApp/Meta and Google Fonts) may process information on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information enjoys a level of protection that is consistent with POPIA.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable and appropriate technical and organisational measures to safeguard personal information against loss, unauthorised access and misuse — including access controls, encryption in transit, and regular backups of the systems we run. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to keep our measures up to date.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires (for example, tax and accounting records). Enquiry information that doesn't lead to an engagement is kept for a reasonable period and then deleted. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it.

Your rights under POPIA

Subject to the conditions in POPIA, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@jxwebworks.co.za. We may need to verify your identity first.

Complaints to the Information Regulator

If you believe we have not handled your information properly, you may contact the Information Regulator (South Africa):

We'd appreciate the chance to resolve any concern directly first — please reach out to us before escalating.

Cookies & tracking

Our website uses essential cookies needed for it to function. With your consent, we also use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel — a small piece of tracking code from Meta Platforms, Inc. — to understand how visitors use the site and to measure and improve our advertising.

When the Meta Pixel is active, it may collect information such as the pages you view, your actions on the site, your IP address and device/browser details, and may set cookies. This information is shared with Meta, which may process it outside South Africa (see "Information processed outside South Africa" above) and may use it to show you relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram.

Your choice: when you first visit, we ask whether to accept or decline non-essential cookies. The Meta Pixel only loads if you click "Accept." You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser (which removes your saved choice and shows the banner again), or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. You can also control ad personalisation in your Meta account settings and opt out via your device's ad settings.

We do not currently use any other third-party analytics. If that changes, we will update this policy.

Our own page counter. We keep a simple count of page views on our own server, so we can see which pages are read and how much of our traffic is automated crawlers rather than people. It sets no cookies, sends nothing to any third party, and does not store your IP address. To tell one visitor apart from another on a given day it stores a one-way code derived from your IP address and browser together with a secret value and the date — it cannot be turned back into your IP address, and the same visitor produces a different code the next day. We record the page address without any query string, and where you arrived from we keep only the website name (for example “facebook.com”), never the full link.

Children

Our services are aimed at businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information of children without the consent of a competent person.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be reflected here, so please check back occasionally.
