JonyX WebWorks is a small, hands-on custom software studio in Pretoria. I spend more time understanding how a business actually runs than writing code for it — because a system built on a misunderstood process is just a faster way to get the wrong answer. There are no agency layers and no account managers: when you work with JonyX, you deal directly with the developer who builds, supports and looks after your system.
I started with websites. The businesses taught me the rest.
I started out building websites and digital work. But the more time I spent inside actual businesses, the more I kept meeting the same thing: the important parts of the company — the quoting, the stock, the audits, the follow-ups — held together by spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups, paperwork and software that was never designed around how that company works.
Nobody had chosen that. It just accumulated. So I started building internal systems around the real process instead, and that is now most of what I do.
The other thing I learned is that the answer is not always custom software. Sometimes a tidier spreadsheet fixes eighty per cent of it for nothing, and I will tell you that rather than sell you a build. It costs me a job and saves you thirty thousand rand.
Most companies looking for software get passed between a salesperson, a project manager and a developer they never actually meet. JonyX works the opposite way: one person scopes your system, builds it, and supports it — so nothing gets lost in translation and you always know who to call.
This isn't theory. My day job is building and maintaining around 17 internal business systems for one Gauteng company — systems real teams depend on every day, where a breakage stops work: audits and inspections, KPI dashboards, stock control, commission, fleet tracking, leave and more. I know what it takes to build something a team actually depends on, keep it running, and keep the data clean and compliant.
I'm based in Pretoria and work with companies across South Africa. Everything runs remotely, quotes are fixed and in writing, and I usually reply within a few hours.
